Comprehensive Physiotherapy Support for Care Home Residents
Our physiotherapy services are designed to meet a range of medical and accidental issues. Whether it is for weakness, chronic pain, or postoperative recovery, we see to it that each resident undergoes a course of treatment following their specific goals. Treatments that go beyond getting residents back onto their feet and progressing them towards muscular strength, balance, and coordination to help them maintain a good quality of life.
We also work closely with the care home staff so that our planned individual care fits into the daily routine of the residents. We help the carers deliver long-term health benefits. Our team is committed to helping residents with utmost dignity and comfort.

Pain Management
Our arthritic and chronic pain treatments consist of heat, ultrasound, and manual therapies to reduce pain, improve sleep, and ensure an overall good quality of life.
Fall Prevention
We assess fall risks and develop individualized balance and coordination programs in order to minimize the likelihood of injury and maximize the older adults' confidence in their movements.
Post-Surgery Rehabilitation
We offer individualized rehabilitation programs that are designed to return older adults to strength, mobility, and function following any surgery such as joint replacement or any orthopedic-related.

We work with our patients on their cognitive skills that enhance memory, concentration, and problem-solving abilities. Our programs promote mental clarity and an in-grown strength to live independently.
Our Part in Encouraging Residents to Stay Independent
Comprehensive Assessment and Rehabilitation Plan:We conduct comprehensive physical and cognitive evaluation for every one of the residents in-need to identify their needs. We utilise the assessment to design specific rehabilitation plans for their recovery, mobility, and healthy longevity.
Hands-on, One-to-One Treatment Sessions: Our physiotherapists provide individual treatment sessions to each of our residents based on their needs. Such a deep-level of hands-on involvement ensures that every single one of our residents gets personal time to overcome the specific challenges they are facing.
New Resident Assessment: We also assess newcomers when they are admitted and try to see what their specific needs are so that we can tackle them right at the start. This helps us design a care plan tailored to their specific needs as far as physical abilities are concerned for a less strenuous transition into a care setting.
Mobility and Walking Aid Assessment: We evaluate the need of each resident for mobility aids, so they have the appropriate equipment with which they can mobilise safely in the care home. This also covers device recommendations that best help them with comfort in performing day-to-day activities.
Balance Assessment and Retraining: We diminish the risk of falls while enabling our residents to rebuild confidence in their mobility through comprehensive balance assessments and retraining. Our approach is based on coordination and stability to help them move independently in a safe movement.
Neurological Assessment Following Stroke: The program is a supportive rehabilitation program for stroke-stricken residents or those who suffer from other neurological conditions. Through this, we help them regain their motor skills, balance, and strength.
Management of Long-Term Conditions: We offer physiotherapy interventions to deal with chronic conditions like arthritis, ensuring our residents remain mobile and pain free. We also have several long-term care plans aimed at maximising comfort and support for their pursuit of daily independence.
Equipment Assessment:We evaluate the requirement for appliances and provide the residents with the devices that would help them to retain their mobility in the care home environment. Our physiotherapists rigorously track patients’ progress to keep pace with their shifting requirements.
Resident Mobility Care Planning:Our staff collaborates with the caregivers in care homes to offer an ongoing care plan for mobility. Such mechanisms help ensure uniformity in physiotherapy services as every resident is provided with timely support required to enhance their lifestyle.
Group Exercise Classes:We conduct group exercise classes encouraging strength, balance, and mobility in a social setup. These classes are aimed at increasing interaction among the residents while facilitating physical development to improve everyone’s well-being.
Falls Risk Assessment and Prevention:The elderly are always at a high risk when it comes to experiencing falls, we assess their falls risk fully to prevent such incidents from happening. Based on the assessment, we devise strategies to prevent injury while ensuring safe movement.
Rehabilitation Following Trauma or Elective Surgery:Rehabilitation programs are provided for the residents recovering from postoperative rehabilitation following surgery or trauma. Our programs are dedicated towards regaining the strength, mobility, and independence of the residents.
Pain Management Service:Our physiotherapy services include chronic pain management, that is directed through manual therapy and gentle exercises. The individualised sessions aim to reduce suffering and make life comfortable for the residents in the shortest time possible.
Mobility Aid and Hoist Training for Staff:We work with the care home staff to help them use mobility aids that would assist with the safe and comfortable movement of residents around the care home, thus ensuring a higher quality of care and overall safety of the residents.

Frequently Asked Questions
Physiotherapy is used in upgrading the health conditions of people residing in care homes. It is aimed at enhancing the muscle strength, balance, and flexibility of the care home residents and thus reduce the risk of falls.Several chronic conditions are also managed through physiotherapy by giving relief from any sort of pain and stiffness present in the patient suffering from arthritis. Ultimately, it provides after-surgery and stroke rehabilitation along with the ability to reside as active as possible with complete independence.
Our care home physiotherapy services are all-inclusive for a range of different conditions. Initial assessments are offered to new residents to determine their physical capabilities, and then individualised planning is created based on the assessment through rehabilitation plans. We offer hands-on one-to-one treatment sessions, assessment, mobility aid evaluation, and care for specific neurological conditions such as stroke cases. We also offer group exercise sessions, falls prevention programs, pain management services, and postoperative rehabilitation. Lastly, we also train the care home staff on proper use of mobility aids and hoists, ensuring that the residents are cared for, safely and with utmost comfort.
Booking physiotherapy for a care home resident couldn’t be easier. Just get in touch to arrange an initial consultation. We will discuss the specific needs, health challenges, and rehabilitation goals with the resident and their family during this consultation. Following that, we will carry out a thorough assessment to produce a care plan tailored for each patient, including specifications on how many treatments are needed, which therapies will be applied specifically, and ways through which we will be supporting the resident in maintaining physical health and independence.
The number of physiotherapy sessions depend on every individual in care facilities, namely their specific need and health goals. For some residents physiotherapy sessions should be carried out daily, for example, patients who are recovering from surgery or have been recently injured might require these sessions. On the other hand, others need less frequent – once or twice a week – to sustain the health conditions or remain mobile and strong. The frequency would ultimately be in regard with their unique circumstances, taking into account each situation, so that the care is actually effective and sustainable in the long run.

Diane Smith2024-07-07 Tosin gave me huge confidence to improve my mobility and clearly outlined exercises to help me build up my stamina and strength. Rodney Anderson2024-06-11 We no longer need your services etc, but I wanted to write and say how much we appreciated Tosin’s work with my wife. My wife has a brain injury from a fall and is basically bedridden. Tosin was remarkable in her kindness and work with my wife Julie. She was always on time and worked with Julie from the moment she arrived to the last minute of the hour. She showed such genuine empathy and care, and my wife truly was able to begin responding to her well. It was a blessing to watch the interaction increase and progress. Once again thank you sincerely for your tireless work Tosin. T Lee2024-03-26 Firstly, I would like to say that the support I have been given has been life changing and I am very grateful. I have been working with Mani and Alfred for over six months after breaking both my legs. Mani and Alfred have a lot of experience and I feel without their help and support I would not have made as much progress as I have. They are kind, patient and have my best interests at heart. They are excellent communicators who listen and give the best supporting advice. I feel confident and capable in my recovery the physio has helped massively and honestly do not know where I would be without them, I cannot recommend them enough. They are not just my physio's they are my friends and I will never forget how much they have helped and supported me during the worse time of my life. Thank you for everything Faiza Lewis2024-03-18 My mum had to go to a care home after she broke her leg and the NHS physiotherapy service never materialised. Thankfully the care home had the services of UKHome Physio and my mum met the fantastic Mani. Over the last 6 month she has helped my mum to walk confidently with her walker and more importantly walk up stairs so she could return home. Its a wonderful company. If mum needs to go back for repsite care I will ask them to commence the physio once again as its so helpful. Mani has a lovely charm and kindness to her. Would recommend her and company to anyone. Margaret Mq2023-09-29 Following a hospital stay in November 2021, my son sourced this company for physiotherapy. I suffer from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and lymphodoema and had great difficulty in walking. I previously walked with a stick, but the hospital supplied me with a zimmer frame - a whole new world! Mani began working with me in early 2022 on a weekly basis and has been a godsend! Although I am still not able to walk independently, Mani has vastly increased the strength in my legs and arms and given me more confidence. She is very professional and friendly, so it is lovely to have a good chat too about world issues and family life. I speak to Abhishek on a fortnightly basis to pay for my appointments - he is always friendly and professional. I would recommend this company. gillian haughton2023-09-25 I was lucky enough to have Teddy as my physio 6 weeks into my total knee replacement. I felt I wasn’t achieving my goals but he gave me the confidence I needed and after two visits I am now able to drive/shop etc on my own. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend UK Home Physio they certainly helped me. duncan munn2023-01-26 UK Home Physio was a great at home choice for my mother in law when she seriously broke her hip last year. Without their support and care over the last 12 months, she would not have regained the pain-free mobility she has been able to achieve. Her therapist, Mani, was kind, professional, encouraging and took time to really understand what could sensibly be accomplished. We would highly recommend UK Home Physio services, if someone was in the same position of not being able to access NHS facilities long term. Sandy Tiheam2023-01-19 -*Awful customer service*- The physio therapist herself was lovely, but sadly turned up 40 mins late to the appointment. There was no notification of lateness or explanation of why. Upon turning up, she simply spent 20-25 mins with my grandma, of which, 10 mins were spent drafting exercises for homework. We were then billed 45 mins worth of exercise for £90 & when disputing this cost for the time actually spent; the customer service received was atrocious. No apology on the lateness except to be told abruptly “she was probably stuck in traffic”, and told that the client would be billed £90 for 45 minutes despite the time actually spent with the client. Be that 25 mins or 45 mins! Absolutely ludacris! I would avoid paying this company any money as it seems they’re solely concerned about taking money rather than maintaining a professional reputation & most definitely need to work on their customer services. Tali London2022-12-23 Tosin is working hard to help her patient get better & get their mobility back. Although the patient’s progress is very slow due to the severe impact of the stroke, but at least there is progress every time. She never failed to turn up on schedule. She keeps me updated on the patient’s progress & gives some advice in addition to her treatment. She cares about the patient. I’m glad I found this UK Home physio Therapy. They are friendly & care about people. They respond quickly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to someone. Remus-florin Botezatu2022-10-05 Very professional and knowlegable team. They are helping me to recover from my accident and multiple injuries. Highly recomended
